• 2007 : News about Charline and Tom

Tom and Charline are growing well  (clothes can tell it !)
Charline always had 4 cm to catch up with her brother but now the difference between them
is going bigger & bigger (6 cm).
I thing that Tom will be a tall boy (I had already this feeling at the maternity)

He was 116 cm at Christmas (for 110 cm for Charline, who is not small either
    Now, they're 5 years  5 months

Charline has already lost her 1st tooth, a few weeks ago.
She lost the second one today (they're on the bottom).
Of course, according to a “legend” in vigour here (and in some european countries), the little mouse came during the night and replaced the tooth, placed close to the pillow, by a little coin.

Tom & Charline are very kind kids and very “câlins” (affection givers & takers) and get very well together.  But outside the house, they both have their own friends (Charline speaking mainly of boys and not girls!) what is better for twins => solidarity + independence.
Ils sont très charmants, très câlins et s'entendent très bien ensemble. Mais à l'extérieur, ils ont chacun leurs copains (car Charline ne parle que de garçons !) ce qui est préférable pour des jumeaux => Solidarité mais indépendance.

They are at the last class of preschool, means next year they'll have homeworks.
I believe that they should not have too much problem, taking their attention busy for a while, as they're used to. They seem to like learning new things and ask for it.

Since a while, I started to talk with the in English and play little games on the PC or “society games” as we say, in English. They therefore learn some little words as : next page, play, ...
Charline is very receptive. I hope that I'll have time and willness to follow this learning.

Charline receives every month a UK Magazine names “friends” with games, mazes, handwritings, workbook, ... => funny way to learn a little, as colors,

They know well the letters and can recognise some words in books.

Charline is a very dynamic girl and loves climbing, making exercises quite dangerous (in the playing grounds for instance). Gymnastic would suit her very well next year besides school.

Tom is a very creative boy. He draws very well and often, with very many details. He's much observer. He has a real artistic skill, also for music.
Subjects of his drawing are very various one. He also creates many things in LEGO from his own imagination, and sometimes very difficult ones.  He likes very much the “society games”.
On the computer, he likes playing “Traffic james” or “Rush hour”.

Charline has shining eyes when she hears of CHOCOLATE.  Hopefully the chocolate's season is over (St Nicolas). The name “cartons” is also well appreciated to her. We receive the “Playhouse Disney” channel, which propose very nice cartoons (educative, colourful, non violent, ...)

Tom & Charline start to walk better & better with us, which give us the chance to make longer walk. Tom always finds something to look at (nature, animals, ...), Charline gets bored easily, she wants the things moving, changing, ...

  • Easter (March 2005)

    Hello to english speaking friends.

I wish you a happy Easter time.

The weather here has been quite bad (mainly wet or raining) for a nice egg hunting. The pictures were from yesterday by Tom and charline' grandparents. It has been quicklier than last year ! We know know what has to be found and believe me, chocolate, we love that, especially Charline !

  • AFS

    Hello,

Reading the English narrative published earlier, makes me think of the time I spent in <country-region>

    USA</place></country-region>     (<state>

Texas</place></state>), I've also good memories of

<city>St Louis</city> <state>Missouri</state></place> ( where are living good friends of our family, the Johnstones ) and a very nice place :

    Cape Cod</place>.

I hope that one day, I'll have the opportunity to go back to some of those places with family.

I wonder if I could find, via this blog, people who have joined the AFS ( American Field program ) by 1983-84.
